Not too much is known about this climb we believe it was a Mike Garden route that sprang up around the same time as when the gym climbing area was being developed. Once upon a time I remember being at Sierra Sports and hearing Robert Knox and Mike Garden talking about his short route and to look for the pink sling on it before the gymnasium. Well I think the same sling is hanging on it although it is almost white. If memory serves correct the rating was 10+ ish...

Access crossing the river would be the only real issue here. The Kern Canyon is subject to closure because of rock slides.

River crossing might be difficult.

From Bakersfield take HWY 178 into the canyon approximately 9 miles.

This area is not gated.

Their is camping in the Kern Canyon although it is HOT and Dirty. The company at the campsites is questionable as well.
